He said his addiction was exacerbated by the death of his mother in December 2014, that he suffers from Hepatitis C and that he is in need of a liver transplant. Deputy District Attorney Thomas Gannon, who prosecuted the case, said that although the drug transactions took place in Philadelphia, Figueroa’s case was heard here in part because the offenses were discovered as part of a larger criminal investigation that originated in Bucks County.
